Waiving Coverage

Waiving Coverage offered by Whitman County

If you choose to waive coverage offered through Whitman County, you must:

  1. have other medical coverage and supply proof of other coverage to SIMON
  2. upload proof of other coverage to the SIMON Portal
  3. If you are waiving coverage, when you must check the following, as these benefits are provided by Whitman County:
    • Dental – if you have the option, choose between Willamette Dental or Delta Dental
    • Vision
    • $24,000.00 Standard Life Insurance
    • EAP (Employee Assistance Program)

In most cases you will be eligible for a VEBA, $400 per month contribution. Please visit the VEBA page for additional information and forms for VEBA. If you do not already have a VEBA account, one will be set up for you. Contributions to VEBA are done per pay period ($200 on the 10th pay date and $200 on the 25th pay date. Once your account is set up, you will receive an email or paper mail welcoming you to the VEBA program. You will need to order your VEBA debit card to pay for medical expenses or submit for reimbursement.
