NOTICE 9/28/2021:

Whitman County District Court and District Court Probation are now operating solely from the Pullman Branch of the District Court and will be for approximately one year or until the Whitman County Courthouse renovations are complete.  All hearings will be scheduled in the Pullman branch for this time period.  Whitman County Pullman Branch is located at 325 SE Paradise Street, Pullman, Washington, 99163.  The Colfax Office public number will remain active as will all the Colfax court staff extensions.    


Purpose

Whitman County District Court hears proceedings involving 

  • Anti-harassment and domestic violence protection petitions
  • Criminal misdemeanors
  • Petitions for name change
  • Small claims disputes and civil disputes where the amount claimed does not exceed $100,000
  • Traffic infractions

District Court also provides probation services to offenders convicted of misdemeanor crimes. The probation department is actively involved in monitoring and assisting convicted defendants in the performance of their court-ordered obligations.
