Assistance with Family Law Cases

WCLCR6 - Court House Facilitator Program

(a) Pursuant to GR27 Whitman County Superior Court hereby creates the Courthouse Facilitator program to provide basic services to pro se litigants in family law and guardianship cases.

(b) All pro se petitioners initiating a new family law or minor guardianship case or seeking to modify child support or a parenting plan are required to meet with the family law facilitator prior to filing the initial pleadings to begin the action and prior to presenting final orders.  The family law facilitator shall work with the petitioner and the respondent in order to have pleadings and orders properly formatted before the clerk shall accept them for filing or presentation, in order to have their case properly proceed through the court system.
