Planning Commission (PC)

Purpose

The Whitman County Planning Commission is a nine-member citizen advisory board that makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The Planning Commission consists of two members from each County Commissioner Districts and three at-large members.  Terms of office are four years and generally run from January 1 ending on December 31.

The Planning Commission, working closely with the Planning Department, conducts open record (public) hearings and public meetings on the following types of land use issues:

• Regional Planning
• Comprehensive Plan Amendments
• Zoning Reclassifications
• Development Regulations

The Commission meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the Auditorium of the Public Service Building in Colfax. Additional monthly meetings may be held, as necessary.
